Kuchan & Reed Earns Academic Honors

Middlebury College football players Anthony Kuchan (Wauwatosa, Wis.) and David Reed (New Canaan, Conn.) have been named District I Academic All-American by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors Association). The Panthers recently completed a 4-4 season, with three wins in their last four games.

Kuchan is a political science/economics major at Middlebury, owning a 3.47 GPA as a senior. He was a two-time All-NESCAC selection on the gridiron, also serving as the team’s punter. Kuchan finished the year converting 10 of 12 field goal attempts, tying the Middlebury and NESCAC single-season record. He converted 21 of 24 extra-points, placing him sixth overall in the league in scoring with 6.4 points/game. Kuchan ends his career 19 of 24 in three-point attempts, converting almost 80% of his tries.

Reed earns a spot on the academic team for the second straight season, boasting a 3.65 GPA while majoring in economics. The former All-NESCAC selection caught 39 passes this season for 332 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Two years ago, he was second on the team with 40 catches for 450 yards, earning a touchdown. He finishes his career with 79 receptions for 782 yards with three touchdowns.
