Chapman Picked For National Team Of The Week

October 10, 2012

Billy Chapman has been tabbed as the tight end on this week’s D3football.com Team of the Week. Chapman set a career-high with 12 catches in a 24-3 victory over Amherst on Saturday. He ended the day with 110 yards receiving, and two touchdown grabs.

His two scores broke open a scoreless tie in the second quarter, as the Panthers opened up a 21-0  first half lead en route to the 24-3 victory. The three points by the Jeffs is the fewest scored by an Amherst team since a shut-out defeat back in 2007, 34 games ago.

Chapman is no stranger to D3football.com accolades, as this is the third time he has made the national Team of the Week in his career. Additionally, senior tight end was named first-team tight end on the pre-season All-American Team by the website after a 2011 selection as an honorable mention All-American.
