Chapman Named To National Team Of The Week

November 6, 2012

Tight end Billy Chapman earned a spot on this week's D3Football.com national team of the week. Chapman caught eight passes for 94 yards including the opening score during a 50-21 win over Hamilton in the rivalry Rocking Chair game on Saturday. The score was a 34-yard catch and run, avoiding tacklers after the catch and slipping past a pair of defenders at the goal line.

This is the second time this season and fourth time in his career Chapman made the national team of the week. Additionally, the senior tight end was named first-team tight end on the pre-season All-American Team by the website after a 2011 selection as an honorable mention All-American. Chapman currently sits 13th in the nation in receptions per game (7.71/game).

The Panthers (6-1) wrap-up their season at home against Tufts on Saturday.
