D3football.com has named junior Mike Dola (Arlington, Va.) to its national team of the week after a strong performance punting in a 28-17 win at Bates. Dola averaged 47 yards per punt on seven attempts. Additionally, he was 4-4 on PAT’s and had a tackle on one of his kickoffs.

Only two of his punts were returned, as Bates managed a total of two return yards. Dola saved his two longest punts for times when Middlebury was pinned deep in its own territory. Both kicks dramatically changed field position as his first punt went 57 yards when the ball was snapped from Middlebury’s 14 yard line. In the fourth quarter, Dola booted his longest punt of the day, sailing 59 yards when the Panthers were backed up to their 17 yard line.

The junior from Arlington, Virginia leads the NESCAC and sits 13th nationally in punting, averaging 41.4 yards per kick.
