Middlebury College baseball player John Lanahan (Jacksonville, Fla.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. Lanahan was red-hot for the Panthers last week, hitting .562 at the plate with nine hits in 16 at-bats.

He helped lead the Panthers to a mid-week win over Massachusetts College, before coming home to take four from Tufts. The sophomore had three triples, a homer, scored four runs, while driving in a dozen over the five-game span. He had an on-base percentage of .600, while slugging at a .938 clip.

Lanahan and the Panthers will host Skidmore on Tuesday, travel to St. Michael’s on Wednesday, before hosting Amherst on Friday and Saturday.
