Middlebury College baseball players Ryan Armstrong (Whitman, Mass.) and Alex Casnocha (San Francisco, Calif.) have been named to the NCAA Tournament All-Region team. The duo helped lead Middlebury to a NESCAC Championship and the teams first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Middlebury ended the season with a school-record 26 wins against 11 losses, going 2-2 in NCAA play.
Armstrong hit .450 at the NCAA Regional in Harwich, Massachusetts, to go along with two doubles, a triple and two home runs. He also drove in five runs and had an on-base percentage of .500 over the four games.
Casnocha hit the ball as well, ending the tourney at .444 with two doubles and a home run. He also drove in five runs, hit a SAC fly, stole a base and had an on-base percentage of .450.
