Britton Headed To Summer League All-Star Game

Middlebury College baseball player Jack Britton (Carmel, Calif.) is turning in some great performances this summer in the NECBL (New England Collegiate Baseball League). Britton, who will be a senior at Middlebury this fall, has been selected to play in the NECBL All-Star game this Sunday, July 22nd at 7:10 p.m. The game will take place at Joe Wolfe Field in North Adams, Mass.

All-NESCAC Baseball Announced - Walker Is Player Of The Year

Middlebury College baseball player Noah Walker (Oakland, California) has been named the NESCAC Baseball Player of the Year. The senior also earned a spot on the first-team, while juniors Jack Britton (Carmel, Calif.) and Nick Lefeber (Branford, Conn.) earned second-team honors.

Baseball Ends Season With Two Wins Against Bates

Middlebury ends their baseball season beating Bates 12-1 and 10-5 on Sunday at Forbes Field. The two-game series was rescheduled from April 15. The Panthers complete their season winning 10 of their final 11 games for a 19-11 record.

Baseball Takes Two From Bowdoin

Middlebury won both games of a double-header against Bowdoin on Saturday, winning 6-4 in a scheduled seven inning game and 13-10 in a nine inning contest at Forbes Field. The Panthers improve to 17-11 overall, while the Polar Bears drop to 18-14 completing their regular season. The Panthers wrap-up their season with a pair of games home games against Bates on Sunday.

Baseball Hangs On To Defeat Lyndon

Middlebury scored four runs in the sixth inning on its way to a 6-5 victory over Lyndon State. The Panthers return to action this weekend when they host Bowdoin on Saturday and Bates on Sunday in a pair of double headers starting at noon.

Baseball Falls To Castleton

The Middlebury baseball team saw its five-game winning streak come to an end as they fell at Castleton, 13-6. The Spartans plated 13 runs in the bottom of the third inning and held on to win a 13-6 non-league contest at home.

Walker Earns Player Of The Week Honors

Middlebury College baseball player Noah Walker (Oakland, Calif.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior extended his success at the plate last week, hitting .625 as the Panthers posted a 5-0 record. Walker reached base in .739 of his at-bats, hitting a pair of doubles and triples. He also scored eight runs while driving in six. Walker leads the NESCAC in batting average at .449, while ranking third in hits/game (1.46) and runs scored/game (1.21).

Baseball Completes Sweep Of Hamilton

Middlebury completed a three-game sweep of Hamilton as the Panthers picked up 7-5 and 7-2 victories over the Continentals on Forbes Field. Middlebury will travel to Castleton on Tuesday, while Hamilton visits Union. A Hamilton sweep against Amherst next weekend, would put the Panthers in the NESCAC Tourney.

Baseball Takes Game One

Middlebury took game one of a three game set with Hamilton by a score of 7-1 on Forbes Field. Panther lefty Justin Wright moved to 3-1 on the season, lowering his ERA to 1.93, with a complete game win. The two teams will go at it again on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon.

In the first meeting between the schools since ’76, Middlebury topped Plattsburgh 4-2 in a 1:55 game on Forbes Field. The Panthers return to action when they host Hamilton on Friday, while Plattsburgh hosts Cortland on Thursday.

Middlebury dropped a pair of key NESCAC west games played at Amherst on Saturday. Nick Kehoe fired a one-hitter in the first game to lead the Lord Jeffs to a 2-1 victory, while Middlebury gave up seven late runs to fall 16-6 in game two.

The Middlebury College baseball team finally played its home-opener as the Panthers defeated Plymouth State 8-2 on Forbes Field. Middlebury returns to action at Bates this weekend, while Plymouth State takes on UMass.-Dartmouth and Lyndon State on Saturday and Sunday.

Pallidino Is NESCAC Pitcher of the Week

Middlebury College baseball player Robert Palladino (Belmont, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Pitcher of the Week. Palladino threw 10 innings for the Panthers over two games last week, allowing no earned runs. He began the week on Tuesday with four innings of one-hit ball in an 8-2 win over St. Michael’s. Palladino then earned the win in the final game of a three-game series with Wesleyan on Saturday, tossing six shutout innings of four-hit ball.

Just one day after dropping game one of the series in extra innings, Middlebury bounced back with a pair of convincing victories over Wesleyan. The Panthers won game one 17-1, before earning a 4-0 shutout in the second contest.

The Middlebury baseball team dropped game one of a three-game set at Wesleyan by a score of 5-1 in 10 innings. The Cardinals broke-up the 1-1 tie with four runs in the top of the 10th to earn the victory.

Middlebury played its first game in Vermont as they Panthers picked up an 8-2 win over Saint Michael’s at Doc Jacobs Sports Complex on Tuesday afternoon. The Panthers scored four runs in the first inning and the Purple Knights never recovered as they recorded only three hits on the afternoon.

Baseball Team Opens Season In Arizona

The Middlebury College baseball team opened its season by playing 11 games in Phoenix, Arizona over the school’s spring break. The Panthers went 4-7 on the trip, sweeping a pair from Colby, while dropping two of three NESCAC league games to Williams.

Coach Hageman Passes Away

Long-time assistant baseball coach Bill Hageman has passed away. For more than a decade, Hageman served as the Panthers’ pitching coach and was a fixture in the Middlebury dugout. He was attending practice this spring, until finally succumbing to a battle with cancer.
