Men's Golf Wraps Up Spring

The Middlebury College men’s golf team ended its season with an eighth place finish at the 12-team Northeast District Shootout hosted by Williams.

Men's Golf Places Third At Williams

The Panther men's golf team played its second match of the week as they competed in the Williams Spring Challenge, placing fourth in the 13-team match.

Men's Golf Competes at Skidmore

The men's golf team returned to action at the two-day Palamountain Intercollegiate Golf Tournament hosted by Skidmore College. The Panthers finished with a two-day total of 656, placing them ninth among 12 teams participating.

Middlebury Opens Spring Season

The Panther men's golf team opened up their spring season, taking part in the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in Georgia. The men came in 18th of 24 teams at the event.

Men's Golf Ends Fall At NEIGA

10/19/05 - The Middlebury men's golf team had a good showing at the NEIGA (New England Intercollegiate Golf Association) Championship. The Panthers placed 16th overall and fourth among Division III teams at the 45-team event. URI won the event with a 592, while Middlebury came in with a 639, good for 16th place.

Men's Golf Places Fifth At Hamilton

10/9/05 - Middlebury competed in a two-day match at Hamilton, with the Panthers finishing in a fifth place tie with a 628. Salem State won the 16-team event with a 608, followed by Skidmore (612), NYU (614) and Hamilton (615).

Bane Is NESCAC Rookie of the Year

10/6/05 - Middlebury College men's golfer Harrison Bane (Marblehead, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year. Bane earned the honors after being the low scoring rookie at the recently completed NESCAC Golf Championship. Bane fired a two-day total of 149, just two shots off the championship score. His score also landed him a spot on the All-NESCAC first-team.

Men's Golf Places Fourth At Skidmore

10/5/05 - The men's golf team placed fourth of eight teams competing at the Skidmore Fall Classic Tournament. Skidmore won the event with a 303, followed by Hamilton (304), Williams (309) and Middlebury (313).

Men's Golf Finishes Fourth At NESCAC Championship

10/2/05 - The Panther men’s golf team took part in the NESCAC Golf Championship hosted by Williams over the weekend. The Ephs won the meet with a 611, followed by Hamilton, Trinity and Middlebury (622).

Panthers Host At Ralph Myhre

9/28/05 - Middlebury hosted the Fall Foliage Tournament at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course with Castleton, Elms, Vermont Tech and Green Mountain taking part. Castleton won the event with a 316, followed by the Panther j.v. team with a 333. Leading the Panthers was Jeff Patterson with a 79, followed by Mike McCormick and Brett Shirreffs, each with an 84. Dave Jackson (86) and Ashley Miller (93) rounded out Middlebury's golfers.

Men's Golf Competes At Williams Invit.

9/25/05 - The Middlebury College men’s golf team placed ninth overall at the 24-team Williams Invitational meet over the weekend. Sophomore George Baumann (Mequon, Wis.) led Middlebury with a two-day total of 153, placing him 24th overall. Next for the Panthers was junior Charles Bellmare (Bedford, N.Y.) in 43rd (156), followed by senior Derek Singer (Niskayuna, N.Y.) in 51st (158), senior Mitch St. Peter (San Francisco, Calif.) in 65th (160) and sophomore Harry Bane (Marblehead, Mass.) in 70th (161).

Middlebury Finishes Fifth At Duke Nelson

9/18/05 - In a tournament that featured some of the lowest team scores in years at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course, Williams captured the 23rd Annual Duke Nelson Golf Tournament hosted by Middlebury College. The Ephs, who had a four stroke lead over Skidmore after day one, saw their lead cut to three, but held on with a two-day total of 598. Skidmore finished second with a 601, followed by defending champion New York University with a 602. Salem State (603) and Middlebury (607) rounded out the top five schools.

Golf Team Earns Top Ranking

8/15/05 - The Middlebury College golf programs were listed among the top schools in the country with a balanced golf and academic experience. The women’s team was ranked 11th, while the men were 22nd nationally in a September 2005 article in Golf Digest.
