9/18/05 - In a tournament that featured some of the lowest team scores in years at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course, Williams captured the 23rd Annual Duke Nelson Golf Tournament hosted by Middlebury College. The Ephs, who had a four stroke lead over Skidmore after day one, saw their lead cut to three, but held on with a two-day total of 598. Skidmore finished second with a 601, followed by defending champion New York University with a 602. Salem State (603) and Middlebury (607) rounded out the top five schools.
Matthew Slovitt of Williams captured medalist honors, shooting a two-day total of 143 on the par 71 course. Leading Middlebury on the weekend was Chad Bellmare with a 148, followed by Harry Bane, George Baumann and Derek Singer, who each shot a 153. Mitch St. Peter rounded out the Middlebury squad with a 156.
