Men's Golf Finishes In Second Place Tie At NESCAC's

Middlebury finished in a second place tie at the 2008 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship hosted by Trinity. Williams won the event with a 590, followed by Middlebury (603), Hamilton (603) and Trinity (619). Just four teams competed in the event after earning their way into the tournament through a qualifier this fall.

Men's Golf To Vie For NESCAC Title

Trinity College, the winner of the NESCAC Fall Qualifier, will look to earn its first conference title in program history this weekend when the Bantams host the 2008 NESCAC Golf Championship. The Bantams will be joined by Hamilton, Middlebury and Williams for the two-day, 36-hole event at the Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington, Conn. The first group will tee off on Saturday, April 26, at 12:15 p.m. with the championship concluding on Sunday, April 27.

Men's Golf Wins Inaugural Colonial Cup

The Middlebury College men’s golf team hosted the inaugural Colonial Cup competition against Williams. The two-day Ryder Cup style event featured nine holes of alternate shot play on day one, followed by nine holes of two-man best-ball play. Day two was head to head competition as 10 golfers competed for each school, vying for 20 overall points. The Panthers won the event, coming away with a 13-7 victory at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

Men's Golf Opens Spring Season

The Middlebury men's golf team opened up its spring season with a fifth place finish at the 11-team Palamountain Invitational hosted by Skidmore. The host school won the event with a 600, while Middlebury earned a 644.

Men's Golf Ends Fall At NEIGA Championship

Middlebury wrapped up its fall season at the 73rd NEIGA Championships in Brewster, Massachusetts. 212 golfers took part in the event at The Captains Golf Course, a 36-hole layout on Cape Cod.

Beaney Among Elite

Middlebury College men’s hockey and golf coach Bill Beaney has been listed among the 100 Most Influential Sports Educators by the Institute for International Sport. Other notables joining the school’s 21-year veteran on the list were UCLA legend John Wooden, Duke men’s basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski, Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt.

Men's Golf Third At Hamilton

The Middlebury College men’s golf team returned to New York this past weekend as they took part in the Hamilton Fall Invitational. The Panthers placed third overall in the 12-team event with a 603. Skidmore won the match with an impressive 583, followed by SUNY-Delhi with a 602.

Bane & Cady Earn All-NESCAC Honors

Middlebury College men’s golfers Harrison Bane (Marblehead, Mass.) and Brian Cady (Rye, N.Y.) have earned All-NESCAC honors this fall. The team is selected based upon individual finishes at the 2007 NESCAC Qualifier round, recently hosted by Hamilton College.

Men's Golf Makes The Cut

The Middlebury College men’s golf team has qualified for the 2007 NESCAC Championship. Trinity, who won the event, along with Williams and Hamilton have also qualified. The Bantams earned the right to host the first-ever championship (in this format) in April of 2008. The winner of the four-team event receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III championships.

Men's Golf Team Set For NESCAC Qualifier

HADLEY, Mass. - Middlebury College, the 2006 NESCAC Golf Champions, will begin its title defense this weekend when the Panthers join the rest of the conference for the NESCAC Golf Championship Qualifier. The two-day, 36-hole qualifying event will be hosted by Hamilton College at the Skenandoa Club in Clinton, N.Y., with the top four teams advancing to the championship round in the spring. The first group will tee off on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 11:00 a.m., and the qualifier will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 30.

Men's Golf Competes At Williams Invitational

The Middlebury College men’s golf team turned in an impressive result at the Williams Invitational, placing fourth in the 19-team event. The Panthers shot a two-day total of 614, with Skidmore winning the event with an impressive 590.

Panthers Finish Seventh At Duke Nelson

Skidmore combined for a two-day total of 599 as they captured the 2007 Duke Nelson Golf Tournament hosted by Middlebury College on the par 71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The Thoroughbreds trailed Williams by two strokes after day one, but shot an impressive 292 on day two to capture the 25-team tournament. The Ephs placed second with a 605, followed by St. Lawrence (617), Hamilton (621) and Clarkson (623).

Men's Golf Opens At St. Lawrence

The Middlebury College men’s golf team opened the season with a fourth place finish in a 14-team meet at St. Lawrence University. Senior George Baumann (Mequon, Wis.) led the Panthers with a two-day total of 147, placing him in a third place tie with 70 golfers competing.
