Middlebury College men’s lacrosse player Pete Smith (Wilton, Conn.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. Smith had a 10-point week as the Panthers went 2-0, earning victories over Washington& Lee and Colby. During Tuesday’s decision over Washington & Lee, Smith assisted on six of Middlebury’s 12 goals in a 12-10 win. He followed on Saturday at home with a goal and three assists for a 15-10 Panther victory against the Mules. Smith also scooped up nine ground balls during the week. He leads the Panthers and is second in the NESCAC with 20 assists through six games.
