Men's tennis at Middlebury is now recognized as one of the top programs in the nation. In the last seven seasons, the Panthers have a 112-25 record with four consecutive NESCAC titles as well as three straight trips to the NCAA Championship match ('04-'06). The '04 squad captured the school's first NCAA Tennis Championship, while the '06 and '07 squads set a school record with 22 wins. The Panthers have also not lost a NESCAC dual match, regular or post-season, since '02. The Panthers continuously send players to the NCAA's in the spring, in both singles and doubles competition.

The Panthers compete in the NESCAC, arguably the top Division III tennis conference in the country. The team plays a full season of action in the fall as well as the spring season. The fall season is mostly comprised of tournament play with the team hosting a tournament as well as traveling to the ITA Championships, Bates Invitational and the Cornell Invitational. In the spring, the team plays between 20-25 dual matches, including matches played during the annual spring break trip to California.
