Seven Straight Trips To The Final Four!

Men's tennis at Middlebury is now recognized as one of the top programs in the nation. In the last nine seasons, the Panthers have a 151-35 record with seven straight trips to the NCAA final four. Middlebury captured the school's first NCAA Championship in '04, advancing to the title match in the following two seasons. The Panthers also captured four consecutive NESCAC titles from '04-'07, while boasting a 45-match NESCAC winning streak that extended into '08. Middlebury won its fifth NCAA Championship in the spring of '09.

While the '04 squad captured the school's first NCAA title, the '06 and '07 squads set a school record with 22 wins. The Panthers continuously send players to the NCAA's in the spring, in both singles and doubles competition.

The Panthers compete in the NESCAC, arguably the top Division III tennis conference in the country. The team plays a full season of action in the fall as well as the spring season. The fall season is mostly comprised of tournament play with the team hosting a tournament as well as traveling to the ITA Championships, Bates Invitational and the Cornell Invitational. In the spring, the team plays between 20-25 dual matches, including matches played during the annual spring break trip to California.
