Lawson, Reilly and Humphrey To Be Honored

Three members of the Middlebury College basketball community will be inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame on October 6th. Former Panther coaches and athletic directors Tom Lawson and Russ Reilly will be inducted, along with former standout player John Humphrey. Lawson served as head coach of the men's basketball team at Middlebury from 1971-1978, becoming the school's director of athletics in 1977. He will be inducted under the category of men's Division III coach.
Reilly followed the same path as Lawson, directing the basketball program from 1979-1997, taking the athletic director's post in the fall of 1997. He will be inducted with a distinguished achievement award.
Humphrey is the school's all-time leading scorer, amassing 1,844 points between 1985-1988. He also holds school marks for most points in a game and season, averaging 20.5 points/contest during his four-year career. Humphreys will enter the hall as a top scholar-athlete.
