Smith Named NESCAC Player Of The Week

Middlebury College men's basketball player Aaron Smith (W. Hartford, Conn.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. Smith averaged 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game while shooting 53.7 percent from the floor (22-for-41) during a 2-1 week for the Panthers. Smith started the week with a team-high 16 points and 10 rebounds in a setback to 14th-ranked Plattsburgh St. on Tuesday evening, then contributed another 16 points and 14 boards in a road win at Tufts on Friday. He closed out the week on Saturday with a game-high 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds in a victory at Bates. Saturday's win over the Bobcats, the 17th this season for the Panthers, tied the program record.

Smith and the Panthers will wrap-up their regular season this weekend when they host Wesleyan on Friday at 7:00 and Connecticut College at 2:00 on Saturday.
