Men's Basketball Falls At St. Lawrence

November 25, 2008

Middlebury entered the Thanksgiving break with an 84-71 road loss at St. Lawrence. The Panthers shot an impressive .475 from the floor, but it wasn't enough as the Saints controlled the boards 51-31.

St. Lawrence jumped out to a 9-2 lead extended to 11-5 before an 11-4 run gave Middlebury a 16-15 edge with 10:45 left in the first half. Kyle Dudley knocked down a pair of threes to keep pace, as the Panthers trailed 40-37 at the half.

The Saints held a slim lead for much of the second half, until an 8-1 run at the 10:46 mark gave them a double-digit advantage they would not relinquish.

Jamal Davis scored a career-high 21 for Middlebury on 8 of 10 shooting, followed by Dudley with 13 and Tim Edwards with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Richard Williams led all scorers with 27 for St. Lawrence, followed by Garrett Sharlow with 12 points and 13 rebounds and Tom Wopperer with a dozen.
