Locke's Triple Double Leads Men's Hoops Past Colby-Sawyer

Senior Andrew Locke (Seattle, Wash.) had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 blocks lifting sixth-ranked Middlebury to an 80-54 road victory at Colby-Sawyer on Thursday evening. The Panthers remain undefeated at 9-0, while Colby-Sawyer falls to 4-7.

Avenging an 86-76 loss to the Chargers last season, while ranked seventh, Middlebury controlled the game from the tip. Middlebury shot 45.5% from the floor, while holding the home team to 27.8% thanks to 15 team blocks. Andrew Locke was responsible for 10, which broke his previous school record.

Locke led all scorers with his 15 points. Junior Ryan Sharry (Braintree, Mass.) added 14 points (6-9 FG) and eight rebounds for Middlebury. Rookie  Joey Kizel (Short Hills, N.J.) and senior Ryan Wholey (Pelham, N.H.) each chipped in 12 points.

First-year player John Roberts (Casco, Maine) led Colby-Sawyer with 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Rookie  Robbie Burke (Cheshire, Mass.) grabbed a career and game-high 16 rebounds. Senior Brandon Carbone (Portland, Maine) shot 6-9 from the floor for 12 points in 19 minutes.

The Panthers held advantages in points off turnovers 19-5 and fast break points 12-2.
