Kizel Named NESCAC Player Of The Week

Middlebury College men’s basketball player Joey Kizel (Short Hills, N.J.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior averaged 24.0 points and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 54.8 percent from the floor and 61.1 percent from three-point range in a 3-0 week for Middlebury. After netting 22 points at Keene State, Kizel came home to tie a career high with 30 points (6-8 threes) to go along with nine assists in a win over Colby. The following day, he scored 23 points on 7-14 shooting, including the game-winning free throw with two seconds left as the Panthers knocked off Bowdoin to move into a tie for third place in the conference standings.

Kizel and the Panthers will wrap up their regular season this weekend with road games at Trinity (Friday) and Amherst (Sunday).
