Men's Golf At Middlebury
Middlebury has captured the NESCAC Championship in three of the last four seasons, advancing to the NCAA Tournament in ’07, ’09, ’11 and '12. The Panthers are one of the few teams in the country that can boast a beautiful 18-hole golf course on campus. The Ralph Myhre Golf Course is owned by Middlebury College, and is the site of all the Panther home golf matches. The course is adjacent to campus and boasts a dedicated driving range, practice putting green and area for chipping and bunker shots. Owning the course allows the team priority for play and practice and permits team players to play at various times during the day to avoid academic conflicts.
The Middlebury golf team plays both a fall and spring season. Practice begins in early September and continues throughout the fall season with spectacular foliage that is considered among the best scenery in the country.
Middlebury begins their season in the fall with the 25-team Duke Nelson Tournament, one of the largest tournaments in New England. The rest of the fall season includes 4-5 other tournaments, including the NESCAC Qualifier.
The spring season begins with practice in our dedicated indoor hitting area that is equipped with a video swing analyzer. Over the College’s spring break, the team heads south for a week of practice and competition before returning home. Upon their return, the Panthers take part in weekend tournaments, including the NESCAC Championship.
