October 4, 2006

Middlebury College men's golfers Harrison Bane (Marblehead, Mass.) and George Baumann (Mequon, Wis.) have earned first-team All-NESCAC honors. The duo recently helped lead Middlebury to its first NESCAC Championship since '99, as they came from behind to earn the win at Bowdoin.

Bane makes his second straight appearance on the All-NESCAC team after earning conference rookie of the year honors a year ago. The sophomore has a 76.5 average this fall, with a low round of 73 on day two at the Duke Nelson Tournament. He recently put his best two rounds together with a 74-74 for a second place finish at the NESCAC Championship.

Baumann is a first-team selection after an impressive 154 at the NESCAC Championship last weekend, placing him in a fifth place tie. He has a 76.5 average this fall, with a season-low 73 on day two of the Williams Invitational.
