October 7, 2009

Three members of the Middlebury College men's golf team earned NESCAC honors when the team announced its post-season awards. The NESCAC Golf All-Conference teams are selected based upon individual finishes at the recent championship qualifier. Rookie Andrew Emerson (Pelham, N.Y.) earned first-team All-NESCAC honors, while also being named the league's rookie of the year. Earning second-team honors were junior Jimmy Levins (Rutland, Vt.) and first-year player William Prince (New Canaan, Conn.).

Emerson finished the qualifier tied for third place with a two-day total of 148. He fired a 73 on the first day, following that up with a 75 to lead the Panthers. Levins, who earned first-team honors a year ago, earns a spot on the second-team with a seventh place tie at the qualifier, shooting a 149. A few strokes behind was Prince, who shot a 151 to earn second-team honors.
