Men's Golf With Sizable Lead After One Day At NESCAC Championship

Middlebury holds a nine-shot lead after one day of play at the 2011 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship. The Panthers are hosting the event at the Neshobe Golf Club in Brandon, Vt. Middlebury shot a 302 on day one, followed by Trinity with a 311 and Amherst/Williams tied for third, each shooting a 314 on the par 71 course.
Amherst’s Trip Wray leads all golfers with a two-over par 73, followed by Middlebury’s William Prince and Trinity’s Alex Bermingham, who each shot a 74. Middlebury golfers Max Alley (75) and Jimmy Levins (76) along with Trinity’s Jack Palley (76) round out the top six.
