Men's Golf Qualifies For NESCAC Championship

The Panther men's golf team finished in fourth place at the 2012 NESCAC Qualifier hosted by Amherst. Action took place at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Amherst, Mass. Trinity won the event, along with the right to host the four-team championship in the spring. The Bantams earned a two-day total of 592 after a red-hot 288 on day two. Williams was next with a 607, followed by Hamilton’s 611 and Middlebury with a 613.

Middlebury took 15 strokes off its day one total with a 299 on the second day of play. William Prince played his best golf of the fall, shooting a two-day total of 148 to finish in a tie for second place. Chris Atwood shot a pair of 77’s to finish tied for 16th place with a 154. Rob Donahoe took 11 strokes off his Saturday score with a 73 on Sunday for a 158. One stroke behind was Eric Laorr, who shot a 158, followed by a pair of 80’s for Andrew Emerson.
