Men's Hockey Falls At Trinity, Still Has #1 Seed In NESCAC Tourney

2/14/04 - Middlebury saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end as they fell 2-1 at Trinity. Despite the loss, the Panthers clinched the top seed in the NESCAC Tournament with a late-night (Friday) loss by Bowdoin to Salem State in overtime. The Panthers will have home ice for the tournament as far as they go, beginning with the quarterfinals on February 28th. (box)

Trinity took a 1-0 lead just 1:58 in the game before the Panthers were finally able to tie the contest at 4:17 of the third period with a goal from Darwin Hunt. The Bantams came right back, scoring the game-winner at 6:04 as they skated to the 2-1 win. Middlebury out shot Trinity 44-28, as Marc Scheuer made 26 saves in goal. (box)
