Men's Hockey Tops Trinity, 3-2.

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Middlebury scored two goals in a 44-second span during the early minutes of the third period, en route to a 3-2 win over Trinity.

            Trinity opened the scoring at 11:29 as Brendan Timmins took advantage of a giveaway in the Middlebury zone before snapping a shot into the net. Middlebury answered early in the second period as Patrick Nugent ripped home a shot from the left point to tie it at one. The Panthers gained some breathing room early in the third period with a pair of quick goals. Kevin Cooper scored the first goal as he put in a rebound after a shot by Mike Velez from the point. Adam Foote scored from the left face-off circle with a wrister to the five-hole to give Middlebury a 3-1 lead with 15:35 left to play. Trinity made it a one-goal game at 7:47 as Dan Gyllstrom stuffed home a shot, driving from the left wing. That would be the game's final tally as the Panthers outshot the Bantams 23-18 on the night.


            Yen-I Chen made 16 saves in goal for Middlebury, while Douglas Kiselius made 20 stops for the Bantams. (Box)
