Men's Hockey With Road Win At Conn.

The Middlebury men's hockey team made it a three-point weekend as they earned a 5-3 win at Connecticut College. Matthiu Dubuc tallied two goals and one assist to lead the Panthers to the victory at Dayton Arena. Martin Drolet, John Sullivan and Ken Suchoski all finished with a goal and an assist for the winning side.
Connecticut College senior Trevor Bradley accounted for a goal and an assist in the setback. Sean Tuohy and Ryan Riffe contributed with scores while Joe Capuano had two assists for the Camels.
The Camels came out firing in this one, out-shooting the Panthers 10-7 in the opening period of play. Ryan Joyce launched a hard slap shot from the right point at the 3:47 mark but Middlebury netminder John Yanchek was able to get a pad on the shot for one of his 21 saves in the game.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Panthers took the lead with a Suchoski goal 55 seconds into the middle period. The Camels responded with a power play goal by Tuohy.
The Panthers countered with a goal less than a minute later. Matthiu Dubuc met a loose puck in the air and stuffed it in the top shelf to make it a 2-1 game. With 8:43 remaining in the second, the Camels responded again when Ryan Howarth hit Trevor Bradley with a pass for a one-timer near the left circle to tie the game at two.
The Panthers took the lead for good with 12:36 remaining in the third period. Suchoski won a face-off to Sullivan, who scored from near the left circle. Martin Drolet added an insurance goal with 7:03 to go. The Camels continued to battle the Panthers and Ryan Riffe put in a shorthanded goal with 2:33 remaining when he made a nifty move to his backhand. Ryan Joyce led Riffe in on the breakaway with the assisting pass. Dubuc added an insurance goal with 28 seconds remaining and the Panthers were able to hold on for the 5-3 victory.
Greg Parker made 31 saves in the game for the Camels.
