Men's Hockey Falls To Top-Ranked Norwich

Middlebury dropped to 0-3 on the season as they fell 3-0 to top-ranked Norwich at the PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout hosted by Plattsburgh. The Panthers return to action on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in the consolation game vs. Plattsburgh or St. John’s at 4:00 p.m.

Middlebury struggled with special teams, going 0-10 on the power play in the game. Norwich took a 1-0 lead 8:51 into the first period on a goal from Travis Janke. The lead doubled 7:27 into the second,  when Shane Gorman found the back of the net. The Panthers pulled John Yanchek late, as Scott Schroeder scored a short-handed empty-net goal to seal the win for the Cadets.

Norwich outshot Middlebury 33-27 in the game, as Yanchek finished with 30 saves.
