Yanchek Earns Player Of The Week Honors

Middlebury College men’s hockey player John Yanchek (Hillsborough, N.J.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. Yanchek saved 56 of 59 shots, leading Middlebury to a pair of NESCAC road wins at Colby and Bowdoin. After making 25 stops in a 4-1 win at Colby on Friday night, Yanchek made a season-high 31 saves as the Panthers knocked off Bowdoin 4-2 on Saturday. He is currently second in the NESCAC with a 2.08 GAA and a .778 winning percentage (6-1-2).

Yanchek and the Panthers have a big week ahead, with a road game at Plattsburgh on Tuesday, before travelling to face Norwich and St. Michael’s on Friday and Saturday.
