January 13, 2012
Third-ranked Plattsburgh (11-2-3) had little trouble with Middlebury (6-5-2) handing the Panthers a 7-0 loss in Kenyon Arena. The loss was the worst for Middlebury since falling 9-1 to Norwich in ’93. The Panthers return to action next weekend with NESCAC games at Colby and Bowdoin.

The Cardinals struck again with just 46 seconds left in the period with the fifth of the year from Alex Jensen. Nick Jensen poked the puck away from an opponent with Patrick Job finding A. Jensen who broke in all alone.
The Cardinals took advantage of a Middlebury turnover 9:37 into the second period, with Alex Brenton scoring his fourth of the year on a shorthanded breakaway. The lead grew to 4-0 at the 12:08 mark with Ryan Craig netting his fourth of the year on the power play, one-timing a pass from A. Jensen. The lead ballooned to 5-0 when Kyle Taylor tipped in a shot from Preston Kaye for his fifth at the 15:18 mark.
Kyle Kudroch and Ryan Farnan added third period goals to make it a 7-0 final. Mathieu Cadieux made 25 saves in goal to earn his second shutout of the season.
