Men's Lax Makes Eighth Trip To NCAA's

5/10/04 - Middlebury will make its seventh straight and eighth overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament this Sunday. The Panthers will host Geneseo, a 19-4 winner over Endicott, at 1:00 p.m. on Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium. If victorious, Middlebury would host an NCAA Quarterfinal game on Wednesday, May 19th.

Middlebury earned the right to play in the tournament with a 12-7 win over Wesleyan in the NESCAC Championship game. The Panthers have appeared in five straight NCAA Championship games, winning the title in '00, '01 and '02. Middlebury has an overall tournament record of 19-4 (.826), boasting the highest winning percentage in tournament history of any team still competing in Division III.

Leading Middlebury's scoring attack this season have been Mike Saraceni (26-35-61), Charley Howe (33-10-43) and Mark Foster (24-12-36). In goal, Eric Krieger has a 6.50 goals against average.
