Williams looked tough in the first half, but Middlebury hung tight, leaving the game in a scoreless tie at the intermission. The Panthers came out strong after halftime and had some great chances to take the lead in the first 10 minutes of the second half, but could not capitalize. Williams answered as Dana Leary headed home the lone tally of the afternoon 13 minutes into the second half off a beautiful assist from senior Sky Riggs following a corner kick from Ryan Pelletier. Pelletier lined up to take the corner kick, and sent a short kick toward the Middlebury goal. The ball nicked off a couple players and then came to Riggs, who, with his back to the goal, sent a gorgeous no-look flick over his head, perfectly placed for the charging Leary who pushed it home at the 58:03 mark. That would be the game's only tally as the Ephs earned a 1-0 win.
