LaRocca Earns Player of the Week Honors

11/1/04 - <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Middlebury College men's soccer player David LaRocca (Sparta, N.J.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week.

LaRocca had remarkable week for Middlebury as the Panthers advanced to the NESCAC semifinals for the fifth consecutive year. Saturday, the rookie scored the game's first three goals for a hat-trick as Middlebury ended its regular season with a 4-0 win over Trinity. In the NESCAC Tournament win over Tufts, LaRocca led the charge as Middlebury came from 3-0 down in the final 15 minutes to defeat Tufts, 4-3 in overtime. LaRocca scored the first two goals in a 1:51 span, before assisting on the game-tying and game-winning goals.

The Panthers return to action this weekend as they take on Bowdoin at Williams in the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
