10/12/05 - The Middlebury men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season as they fell to in-state foe Norwich, 2-1. Drew Dilley scored the game-winning goal for the Cadets with 3:48 remaining in overtime to lift Norwich (10-1-1) to the win.
Norwich had a shot to win the game with 2:50 left in regulation with a breakaway goal, but his kick was wide right. It was one of a few scoring opportunities the Cadets had in the second half, as the Panthers controlled the tempo throughout.
Kyle Przekaza opened the scoring in the 39th minute off Sani Siric's corner kick. The goal was the first surrendered by the Panthers in nearly 600 minutes.
Middlebury's David LaRocca evened the score nine minutes into the second half with Gabe Wood providing the assist.
The Panthers out shot the Cadets, 20-9 on the afternoon. Jake Pagragan logged 12 saves for Norwich, while Zack Toth finished with five stops for the Panthers.
