Baer Fisher opened the scoring at 14:06 as he beat his defender driving to the goal and found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Castleton's best chance to score came with just 30 seconds left in the half as Rhyan Paquette's shot into an open net was stopped by Middlebury defender Nolan Lincoln.
