Men's Soccer Cruises Past S. Vermont

Middlebury improved to 3-0 on the season with its third consecutive shutout, as the Panthers blanked in-state foe Southern Vermont, 6-0. Middlebury owned a 26-2 shots advantage in the game, as 27 different players saw action on the field. The Mountaineers even their record at 3-3 on the year.
Alex Colucci struck just 2:46 into the game for Middlebury, burying a shot after a save and a scrum in the S. Vermont goal crease. Taylor Wilkins took a nice feed from Tyler Macnee and blasted a shot past a diving Aaron Eschler at the 8:13 mark to make it a 2-0 contest.
The Panthers kept coming, as Robbie Redmond fed Harrison Watkins at 13:36, with the senior finishing for the 3-0 advantage. Watkins scored on a penalty kick at the 32:06 mark for his second of the game. Ethan Galiette and Colucci worked a nice give-and-goal late in the first half, with Galiette scoring at 41:05 to give the Panthers a 5-0 lead at the break.
Just one second half goal was scored, with the lead increasing to 6-0 at the 72:05 mark. Brett Brazier scored for the Panthers in the box, converting a pass from Tyler Smith.
Tim Cahill picked up the win in goal, making just one save in the first half. Eric Wilson (24 minutes) and Zach Abdu-Glass (21 minutes) both saw second half action in goal. Eschler finished with eight saves for the Mountaineers.
