Men's Soccer Falls At Williams - Will Host Quarterfinal Game Sunday

The Middlebury men's soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 3-0 road loss at Williams on Friday afternoon. The Panthers earn the third seed in the NESCAC Tournament and will host sixth-seeded Tufts on Sunday at noon in a quarterfinal game.

The Ephs scored in the 12th minute of the first half when Charlie Romero received a ball in the corner and tight-roped the goal line before crossing the ball into the box to a charging Kiel Bonhomme who scored from point blank range to put the Ephs up 1-0.

The Ephs capitalized again in the second half in the 54th minute when Romero crossed the ball to Bonhomme who one touched the ball to Alex Johnson in the box. Johnson proceeded to beat the keeper to put the Ephs up 2-0.

The Ephs went up 3-0 in the 74th minute after Romero connected with Gaston Kelly in the box. Kelly one touched the ball past keeper Tim Cahill to seal the victory for the Ephs.

Middlebury (11-3-0, 6-3-0 NESCAC) held a 10-7 shots advantage in the game and took seven corners compared to one by Williams (11-1-2, 6-1-2 NESCAC). Cahill made two saves in goal, while Peter Morrell earned three saves for the Ephs.
