Men's Squash Players Earn NESCAC Honors

Two members of the Middlebury College men’s squash team recently earned All-NESCAC honors when the league announced the squad. Junior Valentin Quan (San Salvador, El Salvador) earned a spot on the first-team, while sophomore Jay Dolan (Wareham, Mass.) was named to the second-team. They two recently helped lead the team to a 14-11 record and a final ranking of 14th nationally.

Quan earns first-team honors for the second straight season after being-named to the second-team during his rookie year. He played in the #1 spot for the team for much of the season, earning a 10-12 mark against teams from Division I, II and III. His three-year record playing at #1 now stands at 46-23. Quan’s best win of the season came in defeating Brown University #1 Brad Thompson: 8-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-8. He also defeated the #1 players from Amherst, Hamilton, Colby, Hobart, and St. Lawrence.

Dolan was named to the league’s second-team for the second straight season, playing at #2. He finished the year with a 10-15 mark, including wins at the #2 spot against Columbia, Bates, Bowdoin, Amherst, Hamilton, Hobart and St. Lawrence. He also qualified and participated in nationals for the second year in a row.
