Tennis Teams To Host NCAA Regionals

5/3/05 - Both Middlebury College men's and women's tennis teams will host NCAA Regionals this weekend on campus. Each team will be hosting one of two Northeast Regionals, for first and second round competition.

The Middlebury men drew a first-round bye and will host the winner of the Amherst/Bates match (played on 5/6 at 1:00) on Saturday, May 7th at 3:00 p.m. The defending NCAA Champions are making their fourth consecutive NCAA appearance, with a 7-3 record in tournament play.

The Middlebury women will take on Vassar in a first-round match on Saturday, May 7th at 9:00 a.m. Bowdoin meets Williams at noon in the other first-round contest. The winners meet on Sunday, May 8th at 1:00 p.m. in the NCAA Regional final. The Panthers are making their third straight NCAA appearance, sporting a 2-1 record in NCAA play.
