Olson Falls In NCAA Semi's - Doubles Duo Competes

Middlebury College men's tennis player Conrad Olson had an impressive showing at the NCAA Individual Championships in Claremont, California. Olson won three matches before being eliminated in the semifinal round. He cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Carlos Perez Borja of Grinnell in the first round, before dominating John James of Mary Washington 6-0, 6-0 in the round of 16. On Saturday, Olson was a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 winner over John Watts of Washington University in the quarterfinals. Michael Goodwin of Emory, the fifth seed, defeated Olson 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in the semifinal round of the tournament. In doubles play, Andrew Thomson and David Farah won the first set 6-4, but then fell 7-6, 7-5 to Bobby Cocanaugher and Cory Kowal of Trinity (TX) in the first round.
