Men's Tennis Earns NCAA Bid

The Middlebury College men's tennis team will make its 11th consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament when they travel to Johns Hopkins for a regional from May 11-13. The Panthers will take on the winner of the Penn St.-Harrisburg vs. Grove City match on Saturday, May 12th at 2:00 p.m. If victorious, they will battle the Johns Hopkins/Elizabethtown winner on Sunday, May 13th in the regional final.

Middlebury enters the weekend with a 13-6 overall record. The Panthers won the ’04 NCAA title, earning its second national crown in ‘10 with a 5-1 win over Amherst in the title match. Middlebury has advanced to the final four in seven of the past nine seasons, earning its first NCAA Tournament bid in ’01-’02. The Panthers boast a 29-10 record in NCAA Tournament play and are ranked 12th in the latest ITA National poll. Middlebury has faced nine opponents in the top 22 this season, only suffering losses to teams ranked in the top 10.
