Men's Tennis Defeats Trinity For Third Win In As Many Days

The Middlebury men’s tennis team earned its third win in three days, extending its winning streak to five matches with an 8-1 win at Trinity (7-5, 3-2). The eighth-ranked Panthers (12-2, 4-0) return to action on Saturday when they host Bowdoin at 10:00 a.m.
Alex Johnston/Andrew Lebovitz (8-5) and Palmer Campbell/Brantner Jones (9-7) gave the team a 2-1 lead after doubles play.
The Panthers swept all six singles contests, five of them coming in straight sets. Johnston was a 6-3, 6-3 winner at #1, while Campbell took a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the second slot. Jones emerged with a 6-2, 6-0 win at #3, while Smolyar took three sets (6-4, 4-6, 6-1) to defeat Musyoka Mbithi in the fourth spot. Earning a 6-4, 6-1 win at #5 was Courtney Mountifield, while Jackson Frons picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in the sixth slot.
