Describe your initial reaction upon seeing the campus and athletic facilities for the first time.

I knew from the way the Middlebury sports facilities were kept that sports here were not a joke. Upon seeing the well-kept and well outfitted facilities I could tell that the school took pride in their athletes and all of their hard work and achievements. It was obvious that the school supports their athletes and gives them the means they need to succeed.

What is the one thing that makes Middlebury College a special place for you?

The way that this school allows me to be a student and an athlete is what makes it so unique. This school creates an atmosphere where it is possible to pursue goals in both fields. You do not have to forgo one for the other.

What is your best memory as a player at Middlebury College?

Winning the relay at the 2007 UVM carnival race.

What have you learned from your sport that you will use in your everyday life?

That nothing is impossible. From the get go this school has helped to create an atmosphere where I can be a D1 athlete and compete against the top skiers in the world and then come back during the week to school and pursue some of the most rigorous academics in the country. If I can learn to balance both school and sports at Middlebury I can learn to balance anything. Finding this balance has taught me to stay focused and prioritize. These are qualities that I will carry with me forever.
