Softball Ends Season With Win At Norwich

Middlebury wrapped up its season with a 4-2 win at Norwich. The Panthers end their season with a 21-12 mark.

Middlebury broke a 2-2 tie with a runs in the top of the fifth and sixth innings for a 4-2 victory over the Cadets.

The game remained scoreless until the fourth inning when Middlebury's Lily Hamburger crossed the plate on a Carolyn Davis RBI single. Colleen Sullivan added a run off an Amelia Magistrali RBI single.

Norwich answered in the bottom of the fourth with runs by Whitney Grennon and Christine Carroll. Both Whitney and Carroll went 2-3 at the plate with Grennon recording her second triple of the season.

The Panthers moved ahead 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning when Ellen Sargent doubled and scored on Hamburger's RBI single. Maura Casey scored on a single from Sargent in the seventh to seal the 4-2 win.

Sargent went 3-4 in the game, while Casey and Hamburger each had two hits. Jennifer Williams earned the win in relief.
