Softball Splits A Pair With Williams

Trailing 2-0 in game one, Middlebury got on the board in the fourth on an RBI single to center by Brittany Burke, scoring Carlie Crawford. The Panthers scored a pair of unearned runs in the fifth inning, taking a 3-2 lead on a SAC fly by Megan Margel.
With two outs in the sixth, Amelia Magistrali and Emily Burbridge singled before Kristin Maletsky belted a three-run shot to give the Panthers a 6-2 advantage. The homer was the fourth of the season for the sophomore.
Burke went the distance, earning the win over seven innings of work. C. Crawford went 2-4 for the Panthers, while Burbridge was 2-3 with two runs scored.
Trailing 3-0 in game two, the Panthers struck for a pair in the third inning. Maletsky double to right and later scored on a fielder's choice from C. Crawford, while an RBI ground out by Margel scored Leslie Crawford.
The Panthers tied the game in the sixth as Burbridge singled through the left side, scoring Margel and knotting the game at three. Williams came back in the bottom of the seventh and scored the game-winner on an RBI double.
Ali McAnaney took the loss for Middlebury, as Burbridge had a pair of hits.
