Constantin Earns Academic All-American Honor

Middlebury College softball player Geena Constantin (Pelham, N.H.) has been named District I Academic third-team All-American by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors Association). The first-team All-NESCAC selection recently completed her softball season, where she helped lead the team to a solid 18-12 record. Constantine is a religion major at Middlebury, owning a 3.53 GPA.

At 7-5 inside the circle over 15 appearances, Constantin was third among NESCAC pitchers with a 1.76 ERA and 84 strikeouts over 87.2 innings, holding opposing batters to a league-low .199 average. Constantin recorded a perfect game in the first outing of a doubleheader sweep of Hamilton on April 10, as she struck out four of the 21 batters she faced in the 6-0 victory. At the plate, she was second on the team with a .425 average, owning three doubles, three triples and 15 RBI. She had three or more hits in a game four times this season, including a 3-4 effort with three runs scored and two RBI vs. Morrisville.
