Hoffman Earns Academic Honor

Middlebury College softball player Jessa Hoffman (Golden, Colo.) has been named a District I First-Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The senior shortstop is a molecular biology/biochemistry major at Middlebury, who will graduate later this month.
Hoffman rewrote the record books at Middlebury, earning first-team All-NESCAC honors three times after holding down a second-team spot her rookie season. This season, Hoffman is ranked in the top six among NESCAC hitters in 10 difference categories. The senior shortstop hit .467 this season to go along with 57 hits and 45 runs scored, all new single-season records. Hoffman also hit 11 doubles and drove in 40 runs this season for the Panthers, sporting a .521 on-base percentage. She ends her career as the school’s all-time leader in games (142), at-bats (465), hits (188), runs scored (143), batting average (.404) and triples (25), while ranking second with 43 doubles and 101 RBI.
