3/19/05 - The Panther men's team was in action last week at the NCAA Championships hosted by Hope College in Michigan. Middlebury placed 21st out of 56 teams scoring at the meet.

3/12/05 - The <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Middlebury College women's swimming and diving team finished ninth overall out of 53 teams scoring at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships last week.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

First-year swimmer Marika Ross (Shorewood, Wis.) had an impressive week, as she won the NCAA title in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:02.25, a new school and NESCAC conference record. Ross placed second in the 400 IM, setting a new school record with a time of 4:29.57. She also earned All-American status in the 200 IM, placing third with a time of 2:06.

2/27/05 - The Panther men's swimming and diving teams turned in a very impressive performance at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Wesleyan. Williams won the event with 1,862 points, followed by Middlebury (1,351), <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Amherst (1,264) and Tufts (1,133.5). The Panthers ended the meet with three individual champions, six school records and two NESCAC Championship meet records.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

2/20/05 - The Middlebury College women's swimming and diving teams placed third overall as they hosted the 2005 NESCAC Swimming & Diving Championships. Williams won the event, with Amherst placing second.

2/15/05 - Middlebury College will host the 2005 NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Middlebury Natatorium this weekend, Friday, February 18 through Sunday, February 20. Williams will look to continue its streak of four straight NESCAC Championships after previously recording 13 consecutive New England titles. Middlebury placed second at last year's meet followed by Amherst and Tufts.

1/15/05 - Middlebury looked impressive as they defeated Hamilton 147-91 on the road. First-year racer Sara Cowie (<?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />N. Palm Beach, Fla.) continued to have a great season for the women as she won three events on the day. The rookie was the victor in the 1000 free, setting a new pool record with a time of 10:36.61. She also won the 200 free (1:59.54) and the 500 free (5:15.50).<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

1/15/05 - The Panther men's swimming and diving team came up on the short end of a 150-91 meet at Hamilton. Sophomore Robert Collier (<?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Catonsville, Md.) was a dual event winner, placing first in the 200 IM (2:00.66) and the 200 fly (2:00.13). The other men's winner was first-year racer Peter Bell (Deerfield, Mass.), who won the 200 breaststroke in 2:15.20.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

1/9/05 - The <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Middlebury College women's swimming and diving team opened up the second semester on the right foot as they  picked up a pair of wins over Colby and Bates at the Middlebury College Natatorium. The women defeated Colby by a score of 155-115, while topping Bates 162-130.

The men were 155-127 winners over Colby, and 168-102 victors over Bates.
