I was amazed when I saw the Middlebury College campus and athletic facilities for the first time. The buildings are beautiful and the landscape is absolutely phenomenal. It is so great to be able to study and/or work out in a facility that looks out into the mountains and fields.
What is the one thing that makes Middlebury College a special place for you?
The thing that makes Middlebury so special to me is the people. Everyone here is so well-rounded and talented at balancing a tough workload with extracurricular activities. The student body is made up of hard working, friendly, fun, dedicated individuals and it is a great feeling to be surrounded by that.
What is your best memory as a player at Middlebury College?
It is too hard to limit this to one memory. If I had to choose though, it was my first dual meet freshmen year. I remember being behind the blocks, unbelievably nervous about the fact that I was swimming in a college meet. I was instantly relieved, however, when I saw a huge pack of my teammates (dressed in pink) run behind my lane. It was so great to know that they were supportive of me then, at the beginning, and have been ever since. My teammates are some of my best friends at Middlebury and swimming here has been such a rewarding experience mostly due to my team.
What have you learned from your sport that you will use in your everyday life?
I have learned that a positive attitude is contagious. Through keeping that attitude and working hard, I am able to both reach my goals and have a great time.]]>
