Swimming & Diving Falls at Williams

The Panther swimming and diving teams fell to Williams on Saturday during a dual meet. The men fell to No. 6 nationally-ranked Ephs by a 197-101, while the women were defeated by the No. 5 hosts, 185-108. The Panthers return to action next Friday and Saturday when they host the Middlebury Invitational.

During men’s action, senior Ian Mackay was a double-winner in both the 100 fly (52.37) and the 100 free (48.51) events, while sophomore Stephan Koenigsberger touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.16). Another individual victory came from first-year racer Michael McGean in the 1000 free (10:03.24).

On the women’s side, junior Jamie Hillas stopped the clock first in the 50 breaststroke (29.86) and the 100 breaststroke (1:05.00). The time in the 50 set a new Williams pool record.

During the final event of the dual, the 200 free relay quartet of Hillas, rookie Morgan Burke, juniors Lydia Carpenter and Ann Carpenter led the field to the wall in a time of 1:40.38.
