Middlebury College track athlete Jack Davis (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) has been named the NESCAC Men’s Track & Field Performer of the Week. Davies won the steeplechase at Point Loma Nazarene, finishing nearly six seconds ahead of the competition in 9:05.75.

The Middlebury track and field teams opened up their spring seasons at the Ross & Sharon Irwin Meet hosted by Pointe Loma Nazarane University in California. The Panthers return to action next Saturday at the same school in an invitational meet.

The Panther track and field teams competed for the second time in California over spring break. Middlebury took part in the Ross and Sharon Irwin collegiate scoring meet at Pt. Loma with some impressive results.

The Middlebury women’s indoor DMR team was unable to earn the three-peat as the Panthers finished second at the 2013 NCAA Championships hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Ill. The team of Addie Tousley, Sarah O’Brien, Juliet Ryan-Davis and Alexandra Morris fell behind early but battled back to earn a second place finish in 11:34.51. All four of the athletes earned All-American honors.

Middlebury's Addie Tousley earned her second All-American award on Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The senior raced to a third place finish in the 5,000 meter event, recording a time of 17:02.11.

Five members of the Middlebury College women’s indoor track team have qualified for the upcoming NCAA Championships. The events will take place on March 8th and 9th at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. Senior Addie Tousley will compete in the 5,000, while sophomore Alison Maxwell will race in the mile. The DMR relay team with Tousley, seniors Sarah O’Brien and Juliet Ryan-Davis and rookie Alexandra Morris will also compete.

The Panther indoor track teams were in action on Saturday, competing at the ECAC Championships hosted by N.Y. Armory and the Tufts Last Chance meet. Middlebury broke two school records over the weekend, with athletes looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

The Middlebury women’s indoor track DMR relay team continued to impress on Friday night. Middlebury has won the last two indoor titles, and Friday night they set an all-time Division III indoor record. The foursome was competing at the Open New England Championships at Boston University, earning a second place finish with a time of 11:32.36. Addie Tousley (1600m), Juliet Ryan-Davis(800m) Alex Morris(400m) and Sarah O'Brien (1200m) comprised the record-breaking team, that topped the old record of 11:34.36 set by UW-Platteville.

The Panther indoor track teams competed at the New England Championships over the weekend. The women’s team placed fourth among 23 teams at Southern Maine, while the men were ninth with 21 teams competing at Bates. Two Panther women won New England titles at the meet, as senior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) broke her own school record with a time of 2:11.36 to win the 800.

Due to the impending storm expected to blanket the northeast, several schedule changes have occurred for Middlebury College Athletic events. The men’s and women’s NESCAC basketball games scheduled for Friday, February 8th vs. Trinity have been moved to Sunday, February 10th. The men will play at 5:00 and the women will follow at 7:00. Saturday’s games vs. Amherst have now also been postponed. The men’s game will be made up on Tuesday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m., while the women will play on Wednesday, February 13th at 7:00 p.m.

The Panther indoor track teams took part in the Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday afternoon. Teams from Division I, II and III competed at the meet, with several Panthers turning in solid performances. Juniors Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) and Kevin Chu (Burlington,Vt.), along with first-year racer Lauren Henry (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) all set school records at the meet.

The Middlebury College indoor track teams took part in the B.U. Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday. Teams from Division I, II and III competed at the event, with several Panthers turning in solid performances.

The Middlebury College indoor track teams were in action on Friday, taking part in a dual meet at the University of Vermont. Conor Simons broke the Middlebury school record in the heptathlon, finishing with 3,578 points. On the women’s side, Sarah O’Brien placed third in the 1,000 in 3:02.35, and is currently the top-ranked D3 athlete in New England in that event.

The Middlebury College indoor track teams opened up their season with a meet at Dartmouth on Sunday afternoon. The Panthers were in action against several teams, including Division I competition from Boston College and Dartmouth.
