Three members of the Middlebury College women’s volleyball team were honored when the AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) and NEWVA (New England Women’s Volleyball Association) handed out post-season honors. Senior Caitlin Barrett (Medfield, Mass.) and junior Megan Jarchow (Cos Cob, Conn.) were a first-team All-Region and honorable mention All-American from AVCA, while being named to the NEWVA first-team All-Region squad. Barrett, along with  senior Julia Gibbs (Houston, Texas) were selected to play in the NEWVA Senior Classic on December 2nd at Babson.

The Middlebury volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-18) loss to Clarkson in an NCAA Regional hosted by their opponents. The Panthers finish the season with an impressive 23-7 record. Third-seeded Clarkson will face fourth-seeded SUNY New Paltz in the regional finals on Sunday afternoon.

The Middlebury volleyball team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22) win over Southern Vermont (24-7) at an NCAA Regional hosted by Clarkson. The second-seeded Panthers (23-6) will take on third-seeded Clarkson at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Four members of the Middlebury College women’s volleyball team were honored when the NESCAC announced its all-league teams. Senior Caitlin Barrett (Medfield, Mass.) was named the Defensive Player of the Year, while also earning a spot on the first-team. Joining her on the first team was junior Megan Jarchow (Cos Cob, Conn.), while senior Julia Gibbs (Houston, Texas) and junior Amy Hart (Kenilworth, Ill.) were named to the second-team.

The Middlebury College women’s volleyball team will make its third straight and fourth overall NCAA Tournament appearance, when the Panthers travel to Clarkson for an NCAA Regional. The matches will take place Friday-Sunday, November 9-11, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals. The Panthers will take on Southern Vermont Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the first-round, with the winner meeting the Nazareth/Clarkson victor on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
